As an author, one of the most important things to keep in mind when working on any genres of literature is the Audience. Despite whether you’re writing a college engineering proposal or a basic middle school essay, knowing the audience of your work is very important because that can change the entire style and structure of your work.

During my spring semester, for every major graded assignment we were given, we were required to complete an audience profile sheet to know who it is our writing should be intended for. In order to complete this sheet, extensive research must be done on your intended audience by researching and finding everything you can about the individual or group of individuals. This assisted us in determining exactly how our assignments should be structured.
