The purpose of anything you do is the reason why you are writing or presenting your work to an audience.

For each of our spring semester assignments the purpose slightly differed depending on the assignment. For example the memo that we completed had the purpose of persuading our audience, which in this case was our school president, of an ongoing issue or challenge within the CCNY community. By raising awareness to this ongoing issue we hope that our president would acknowledge some of our disagreements with a few of the policies in place at CCNY and also look over possible solutions that would be added to fix those issues. For our tech description assignment, the purpose focused more on informing our intended audience about a specific item or system, how it works, and the origin/background of it.
